One spot that doesn’t get quite as much coverage when it comes to Wake County living is Cary’s northern neighbor—leading some of our home buyers to wonder what’s fun in Morrisville NC. So this week we thought we’d introduce you to just a few of the dining and play spots around this smaller Triangle-area town.
Morrisville covers just 8.8 miles—about half the size of Holly Springs—yet is home to around 30,000 residents. Its abundant parks, playgrounds and greenways, (as well as its close proximity to Research Triangle Park, Cary and Raleigh), have encouraged growth in its many different neighborhoods. And over the past decade, shopping and dining have grown steadily too, giving residents more options for staying local.
Fuel up for your day of fun in Morrisville NC
Try Meeple’s Brew, (9545 Chapel Hill Rd), our area’s Boardgames Café where you can relax AND choose from a library of some 250+ board games. Settle in with a tasty coffee drink or smoothie, or come later in the day for milkshakes or a cold beer. Pair your drinks with hot breakfast sandwiches, Belgian waffles and an assortment of other snacks and treats. Take out is available too, of course.
Or, if you’re feeling more cosmopolitan, head to Chutney’s at 4121 Davis Dr, at McCrimmon Corners. They get rave reviews for their Southern Indian breakfast and brunch items including several varieties of Dosa (a type of lentil crepe), stuffed breads (paratha) and spicy coffee. They’re also open for lunch and dinner of course, with a mix of both southern and northern Indian cuisine.
Get out into the fresh air
For outdoor fun—especially if you have kids—try Northwest Park at Parkside Valley Dr. This spot offers some newfangled playground fun for kids 2-12, with separated toddler play equipment, plus picnic tables, shelters, and a walking track around the large play field
Or, walk off your treats with a good walk on a well-rated paved walking and jogging path at the larger Morrisville Community Park, at 1520 Morrisville Pkwy. You’ll also find picnic areas and sports fields—and many locals love the children’s playground options here as well.
